It is with great excitement we introduce to you the new home of Cedar River Baptist Camp! Having out grown our previous home of 53 acres in Iowa, God opened the doors for us to purchase a $2.55 million, 517-acre Boy Scout Camp. Strategically placed at the intersection of I-88 & I-39 in Rochelle, IL, it is easily accessible from all points of the country. One of the property’s focal points is the beautiful 17-acre lake. What an attraction this will be, offering the possibility for boating, canoeing, swimming, ice skating, fishing, a water slide, and much more! Campers will enjoy miles of groomed walking trails through a canopy of hundred-year-old oak trees that blanket the property. The young people will enjoy playing on our 3-story high ship, sure to excite any imagination!
The gently flowing Kyte River snakes for over two miles through the middle of the camp and offers the opportunity for canoe trips and floats. It is also loaded with catfish, Northern Pike and Smallmouth Bass for fishing opportunities.
Our new home is almost 10 times as big as the current property, giving us the great opportunity to reach more people.
Between now and June 1, 2019, many new buildings will be built. One of our biggest challenges right now is to move all the contents of the camp to our new location. Word spread quickly about the need for semi-trucks to make this move. A good Christian man who owns a trucking company said Cedar River Baptist Camp has been such blessing to his church and his family personally that he offered to move the camp with his trucks free of charge. We thank the Lord for this great blessing! December 8 the trucks arrive. Please be in prayer for good weather, safety, and an army of people to get this all completed in short order.
